We’re looking for an enthusiastic Developer Advocate that will inspire and foster a nascent community of Yoto Developers. You’ll be the champion of developer interests evaluating their needs and feeding back to product and engineering teams. You’ll be guiding the engineering team to provide easy to follow documentation for the community and contribute with tutorials and sample code. And you’ll be a hacker-in-residence exploring the platform’s possibilities and creating showcase apps.

What you’ll be doing:
Serve as the voice of Yoto to the developer community, promoting Yoto’s platform, tools, and APIs
Actively engage both in-person and virtually with external developers through forums, social media, meetups, hackathons and other relevant events to promote, gather feedback and address challenges they encounter.
Identify high-potential developer communities, refine messaging to attract new developers,
Create compelling content, including blog posts, tutorials, videos, and code samples, to educate and inspire developers
Oversee API reference documentation maintained by Yoto Engineering teams to ensure that it is clear, thorough, and developer-friendly.
Showcase capabilities of Yoto’s platform by creating open source showcase apps and plugins for 3rd party platforms
Actively look-out for best 3rd party apps and integrations, reach out to their developers and help with showcasing their efforts
Work closely with Yoto’s product and engineering teams to represent the needs and pain points of the developer community.
Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams on promotional activities aimed at developer community
Serve as the primary point of contact for external developers using Yoto’s platform, providing or facilitating support and troubleshooting assistance
What you’ll bring:
Previous experience as a Developer Advocate, API Evangelist, Technical Community Manager or similar role
Strong technical background with experience in software development, particularly with APIs
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Track record building and engaging with developer communities, preferably in the connected HW, consumer or education tech space
Experience collaborating with engineering, product, and marketing teams to align on developer needs and goals.
A proven capability to produce exemplary code, documentation, and instructional content
Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines
A strong grasp of the latest trends and products gaining traction in the technology world
Bonus points:
Track record working with open-source projects or contributing to developer tools
Experience within audio, IoT, HW or ed-tech sectors
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 based on experience. We never want to miss out on speaking to great candidates, so please don't let our banding put you off getting in touch. You never know what might be in our future plan and how well you might fit!

- Flexibility: Hybrid working with a choice based approach - we would love you to come into the office as much as possible, with a minimum of once or twice a month. Take advantage of our ‘work from anywhere’ policy to work from a different location for up to 6 weeks every year. Summer Hours policy to use between the months of June and August.
