We’re looking for a Head of Systems Operations to shape the future of systems at Yoto and significantly impact our internal operations.

Yoto’s Systems Operations Team
Our Systems Operations team is at the heart of the company, with the mission to ensure the smooth flow of information between our software tools to ensure seamless customer experience alongside optimising productivity of our teams. Working closely with Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Finance and Commercial teams, as well as the wider business, our job is to ensure our systems meet the business’s requirements as we scale up. As one of the fastest growing privately owned tech companies in Europe we are continually reassessing, not just our current needs but our future needs. Our focus is automating manual processes, allowing Yoto to expand without continuous hiring, and the seamless and secure integration between all of Yoto’s key platforms.
What you’ll be doing:
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define the Systems Operations roadmap
Planning, scoping, and presenting proposals for new projects, ensuring clear communication with all development teams
Reporting on progress and project spend to the Operations Director and preparing annual budgets
Presenting on System Operations activities to the wider company and defining a strategy on driving productivity across the business globally
Managing the System Operations team covering integration engineering, internal services maintenance, external integrations and overall systems management
Identifying opportunities to implement new, or improve current, systems
Working closely with engineering team particularly the Cyber Security Lead
Leading continuous improvement activities, including open book retrospective evaluations of post peak systems performance and project implementations
Coaching and mentoring your direct reports, conducting performance reviews.
Hiring and scaling the team in line with business needs
What you’ll bring:
3 years experience in an IT or Systems management role, ideally in a start-up or scale-up environment with hybrid working practicesDemonstrated history of identifying repetitive tasks and implementing automation solutions using tools such as Python, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), or relevant scripting languages to enhance efficiency.
Experience working in high physical volume environments, ideally within FMCG or similar industries, with a strong understanding of the operational demands of high-volume e-commerce - and a track record of improving servicing in such settings.
Experience of using AI or being very curious about the use cases for an organisation like Yoto
Proficiency in utilising data analysis tools and software, such as SQL, Excel, or specialised platforms, to interpret complex datasets and inform strategic decision-making.
Active engagement with the latest industry-specific technologies and tools, with a track record of integrating these innovations to optimise workflows and drive productivity.
Curiosity - A keen eye for recognising areas where technological advancements can be applied to improve existing processes, coupled with the initiative to propose and implement effective solutions.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, sharing technological insights and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Experience working with internal and external agile engineering teams and with demonstrable experience of policy and process development.

Comfortable working remotely using a variety of cloud-based software solutions
A friendly, outgoing, personable with a hands-on mentality, willing to roll your sleeves up, and deliver to agreed targets.
- Practical skill/experience desired:
ERP and eCommerce platform experience is essential to the role.
Experience working with 3rd parties on iPaaS integration - like Celigo, and outsourced IT services.
Experience of working in a multi-platform system environment.
Experience working with Google workspace environment beneficial.
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 based on experience
